The Silver Anniversary of the Spirit of A.Z. Wells award, honoring Jim Wade, was a huge success. Silver and black decorated the room, as centerpieces with white roses and lit apples accented the tables. The Confluence Jazz Trio serenaded us during the social hour. Chef Leonard Silva had an impressive menu with apple garnish and flat iron pork as the main entrée. Approximately 330 guests were in attendance, which included 21 Sponsors. As a bonus, Former Foundation Director, Parker McCreary, and current Foundation VP, Executive Trustee, Abel Noah, recognize 16 of the previous award recipients during the evening. Terry Sorom, 2007 recipient, emceed our first “Raise your Paddle” which helped the net proceeds for the evening reach approximately $70,000. This will go to the Wade Family Literacy Endowment.
