Celebrating Our Scholars: Highlighting the Ripple Effect of Generosity

It starts with a gift to the Confluence Health Foundation scholarship fund—perhaps one honoring a caregiver who knew just what to do when it mattered most. That gift, along with others, turns into a scholarship opportunity for someone passionate about advancing their career through education. This education facilitates a promotion, leading to greater financial stability for their family and a fulfilling career that advances the healthcare we all need and depend on.

This is the ripple effect of generosity.

On Tuesday, June 18, the Confluence Health Foundation hosted the 2025 Scholarship Cohort Reception in the Healing Garden at Confluence Hospital Central Campus. The event, which included the 2025 scholarship cohort members, Confluence Health leadership, and Foundation Trustees, celebrated this cycle—all catalyzed by donors who see scholarships as vital to advancing healthcare in our region.

The scholars’ warmth and passion for caring for others were evident as they shared their educational and career goals. Each expressed gratitude for their scholarship and excitement for their future.

The scholarship reception served as a profound reminder of the ripple effect of scholarships. Today’s scholarship awardees are tomorrow’s nurses, Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), and leaders. Scholarships funded by generous donors address regional healthcare workforce shortages, ensuring continuous support for those committed to filling essential roles that protect the lives of those we love most in our community.

The evening concluded with a sense of purpose and optimism, knowing that the scholars, supported by our dedicated donors, will positively impact healthcare in North Central Washington.

An interesting side note: the Healing Garden, where the event took place, is another example of donor generosity. About five years ago, donors helped rejuvenate the garden, which has now become a beautiful oasis for celebration events. We are fortunate to have these beautiful stories of generosity to share, all because of gifts made with a heart full of promise.
