Dr. Rutherford Receives WSHA’s Highest Honor
This month, Confluence Health CEO, Dr. Peter Rutherford, was presented with the Washington State Hospital Association’s (WSHA) Joe Hopkins Memorial Award, a distinguished honor recognizing individuals whose lifework has profoundly impacted healthcare in the State of Washington.
Among Dr. Rutherford’s long list of achievements is his work towards the unification of Central Washington Hospital and Wenatchee Valley Medical Center, which resulted in the creation of Confluence Health in 2013. This merger ensured that the communities of North Central Washington will continue to have access to high-quality, independent healthcare services close to home.
During his ongoing tenure as CEO of Confluence Health, Dr. Rutherford has maintained a passion for patient-centered care, an ethos that has become embedded in the core values and operational goals of the organization.
In addition to his work at Confluence Health, Dr. Rutherford and his wife Karen demonstrate their dedication to our community through charitable contributions and service to community-based organizations. Their commitment to the region is a testament to their love for this place that they call home.
We are very proud to stand behind Dr. Rutherford!
